HomeCheck out the inaugural fun ride in anticipation of the Transport Open Space which really kicked off the transport group here in Shaftesbury. Huge thanks to all who came along and keep cycling! Sustainable Transport gets Moving in ShaftesburyThank you to everyone who joined us in the Town Hall on 20 September to share ideas about promoting sustainable transport in Shaftesbury. We heard about local buses, cycling in Dorset and car sharing from four enthusiastic speakers and then members of the audience were invited to suggest the topics that they wanted to discuss (people chose walking, setting up a cycling group, buses, getting to school and car sharing). We chatted together at 'themed' tables (with lots of tea, coffee and biscuits) about what we could do to make travelling in and around Shaftesbury cheaper, safer and more fun. By the end of the evening lots of great ideas had been generated (some of them are listed below) and several people were getting together to create a branch of Dorset Cyclists' Network for Shaftesbury and Gillingham.
