Transition Town Shaftesbury Wiki

Transition Town Shaftesbury is growing. We have shown films about climate change and peak oil and held talks and discussion days on recycling, food and transport. We have had bike rides and picnics, and launched our fabulous recycled flying machine off Gold Hill. Major projects originating from Transition include Shaftesbury Homegrown - a community business dedicated to growing food in Shaftesbury. Projects happening now include a fantastic eco-circus show to be held in the Abbey School in September (see Arts page), and future projects include a series of films over the next year, an application to work with the Energy Saving Trust and the people of Shaftesbury to lower Shaftesbury's carbon footprint, and a plan to work with Shaftesbury Tree Group to plant fruit and nut trees around the town.
